Dev log and get to know me.

Hey all, I felt like doing a dev log outlining what I'm working on and what to expect for the next release. Also I'll use this post as an opportunity for you all to learn a little more about me as a creator. Please keep in mind that anything I say in any dev log or update about release windows is approximate but right now I'm looking at an early to mid December release for chapter two. Chapter two and all the chapters going forward will have a bit less play time at about an hour. I timed a full NTR play though at normal conversation speed and chapter one is about 80 minutes. This amount of content will enable me to put out chapters at about a month and a half apart. My workflow is pretty optimized now since a lot of environments and settings are already established so I can simply recall a previous scene in daz studio and then just repose and reshoot. That does not mean there won't be new locales or settings though as I plan to take these characters to many new places to further evolve the story.

Also I have an obnoxious attention to detail. I'll spend an hour getting a hand or a foot just right even if it's not visible in the scene just to satisfy my own OCD or whatever. I'm working on being more efficient though and I'm trying not to waste time on things like that so eventually I'll get there. I also want to mention that I am pretty new to this whole visual novel thing with regards to creating them, so mistakes will be made and facepalms will occur from time to time but I try to test things as much as I can before releasing anything. This also means that I'm limited with how many techniques I have available. I'm learning animations right now so eventually I'll incorporate proper animations, but I won't bother with them until I can make them look really good which as you all know from a lot of VNs, good animations are a rarity.

I discovered visual novels back in 2019 and have been hooked ever since. I still remember playing my first NTR based game called The Adventurous Couple. This game blew my mind as I had never experienced any kind of media that featured content like this. I became obsessed and went down the NTR rabbit hole seeking out anything I could find that featured this kind of content.

In December of last year I finally decided to give it a shot and try to learn how to do all this. Youtube basically taught me everything I know about Daz Studio and Renpy. I was a sponge learning so much and so quickly. Sadly I did not and still do not have great hardware for Daz Studio, but I am getting the absolute most out of what I have. My long term goal will to one day purchase an RTX gpu with 12gb or 16gb of vram. Still though, my trusty GTX 1070ti is keeping me going. With a bit of trickery and utilizing plugins that help optimize scenes for low vram gpus, I'm able to create pretty cool scenes despite my hardware limitations. I use a combination of local rendering and pay for cloud based rendering as well since doing it all on my own computer would take too long even with it running all night while I sleep and all day when I'm at work. This isn't cheap but you guys are helping to offset that cost so I appreciate you all so much for supporting me.

Well, that's all for now. If any of you have any questions or ideas, please send me a message as I love communicating with you guys.

Till next time,

Bobbyboy
